Brown sludge in brake reservoir
G'day everyone. Well I am replacing the brake fluid on my bike today and there was a lot of brown sludge in the reservoir. Have drained completely and cleaned it out but I'm worried there might be sludge down the brake lines and in calipers. Would this be right? There is a little bit of gunk in the brake fluid i drained out.
I feel i should flush the system out and wondering if i should just use fresh brake fluid or what about brake cleaner solvent? That should clean it well and i think would be compatible with the lines etc.
what do you guys reckon?

Flushing is a good idea, especially if the fluid has gotten brown. 2 ways to do it. You can take everything apart, clean it, put it back together, and then bleed the system. Or you can just do it by bleeding the brakes for an extended period. Do it enough until the new fluid you're adding starts coming out the bleeder.
Thanks guys. I ended up just flushing with new fluid. It's clear when it comes out now but I can't get all the air out if the right side caliper (1000f), driving me nuts! Put nearly a whole bottle through. Any tips or suggestions? I'll do a search here too on this topic.
