Default brake light woes

I have a recently acquired CBR 600F4i. When I press front brake level fully, I see no change in tail light from it's normal dim condition. But, if I release brake lever partially, then tail light becomes brighter. Does this sound like a bad front brake switch?

Many thanks for thoughts!!

Sounds like it to me.
I've never opened the switch before but it's possible it could be fixed.

Hi. If it is possible, you could try spraying some silicone type lubricant or WD 40 into the switch and see if that helps. It sounds like an intermittent connection fault you have. If that doesn't help you may have to open up the switch and see if it can be repaired. I have done this on other Hondas in the past, but not on my 2002 CBR 600 F1, so go easy if you decide to try the second method! Good luck!

The front brake light switch is one of those items that is so cheap and easy to replace, I'd buy a new one and forget about it. But it does sound like a bad switch to me as well
