Default brake hard after replacing lever

Ok, this is hopefully a really simple/stupid question. After I replaced my front brake lever (broke in accident) the brake is extremely hard. What used to be a 1/2 pull is now barely touching the lever. How do I fix this? It's a 600F2.

On the new lever is it adjusted further out than the old one was?

It feels a little further out. but I honestly don't know. There is a wheel close to the diaphragm on the lever that I think might have something to do with it, but when I moved it nothing noticeable happened.
