CJardine...lol. Great tip!!! She's already been asking. Actually, a few female friends have been asking too. And to think I wanted to buy a solo seat cowl. What was I thinking???

Monkeybutt...thanks, I appreciate that. I'll take a pic tonight when I get home and post it on here.

Man,that's a big dent,I doubt I could fix it. In a bad spot and pretty sizeable,I'd just live with it.

Damn. I was afraid of that. The previous owner said he got a quote from a shop to fix the dent for about $85 to $100 and he can bring me there. I'm not quite sure if it will have to be repainted after it's fixed...or if it can be fixed at all. It worries me as to why he didn't get it done before I bought it in Dec if all it took was $100?

I guarantee you nobody's repairing that for $100 including paint. I'd have him give you the shop #,and go check them out yourself.

Default Hmmm...

With an Acetylene torch, a tank of CO2 and a couple of spray bottles of cold water I could fix the dent. I'm no painter though, so I haven't a clue what the paint repair would run you. I do know for an absolute fact that myself or anyone else who knows how to shrink metal with a torch could make that dent disappear in about 10 minutes. You'd just have to keep pumping CO2 into the tank to displace the gasoline fumes before you started or you'd have a really swelled tank or some really sharp shrapnel before you were done.

@monkeybutt - I figured the $100 was just to get the dent out and doesn't include paint. You're right though...gotta see the guy and ask what he could do.

@handfullofthrottle - sounds like a very delicate operation way over my head. LOL.

Thanks for all the advice/input guys. I'll keep you posted as to how and how much the dent was fixed for...and also how it looks after. Thanks again.

If it were me and was really bothering me,I'd look for a new tank. I found one on ebay for my F2 in mint condish for $150.
