bike wont start after removing and painting clutch cover
Ok here is the story. My bike was and always ran absolutely great, its an 04 CBR 600 F4i. I have recently be focused on the appearance of the bike and had tons of stuff powdercoated. Well I decided since I couldnt have my bike down for a few days at a time I would just pull the clutch cover paint it with hi-temp paint and put it back on. Everything went back on fine and I let it sit for 3 or 4 days to let the hondabond cure so we didnt have any leaks. I get it out lastnight to take off to the first bike night of the year and it wont start. It will try and turn over just like it normally would but wont start. Can anyone please tell me what I am missing, I know there is the one connector that comes from the inside of the clutch cover and that is plugged up is there something else I am missing? Please if anyone has any ideas please let me know. Thanks in advance!
You may have messed up your pulse generator. If you got paint on it or bumped it, it may have broken it. It wont have any spark if its not working. Also, if you moved it all, it may just be out of whack. It needs to be aligned in order to work. I dont know of a way to test it. Its like a 40 dollar sensor.
also if you put the 2 washers back on wrong that go on the starter clutch .. that would do it
if you moved it (the gears) that would do it
if you did not line it up and put the cover on but the 'dowels' inside are not perfectly lined up .. that would do it
