Bike Stand Question
I know this has been covered a million times but I have to ask. I bought a rear stand off of ebay for $40 and worked good for quick jobs but it felt weak and I plan on keeping my bike up on the stands for winter so I sold my ebay stand. I like the vortex stand alot, looks strong and everything but everybody keeps telling me get pit bull. There about the same price but I dont see whats so good about pitbull? Vortex has 4 ball bearing wheels and pitbull only has two. On the vortex stand you can remove the handle and on pitbull you cant. For $50 I can buy the attachment so I could also use the vortex rear stand as a front stand. I plan on having sport bikes for along time so I want to buy the best or closest to it so it last along time. Which one is better and why? Thanks!
I dont own a stand but im looking into getting one in the near future. Everyone seems to recommend pit bull stands because of their strength and durability from what Ive read. T-rex stands also seem to be popular but people either love or hate their design since the top and bottom are screwed together. Any decent stand you buy is going to be fine and will last you for a while as long as its used properly so that really shouldnt be a huge concern. If you like the vortex stands get one im sure youll be more than happy with it.
I got my rear stand from Harbor Freight for like $25 or something dirt cheap like that. Its sturdy as hell, has 4 wheels, and can easily and cheaply be used for the front. The guy I bought my F4i from used a Harbor Freight stand also. He used it for winter storage for 2 winters and he never had a problem with it. I followed his advice and have been happy so far. Just an idea as an alternative
