Rear bike stand question for a new guy
Looking to get a rear stand for my '05 F4i. Is there a stand I can get that will work without any add ons or do I have to get spools for the rear to get it to work. No experience with them so not sure what I'm looking for. Seems like when I check stores online they have things called risers too and I have no clue. Thanks for the help looking to get it for simple maintenance and to get the rear tire off the ground for winter garage storage.

RE: Rear bike stand question for a new guy
You can get a universal stand that has pads and lefts from the bottom of your swing arm. A lot of the stands, like my Vortex, can do both. You can flip it to use spools or be universal.
I've always heard that spools are the way to go, much more stable and so on. I've used mine as a universal for about a year now because I work on a lot of bikes for other people and they don’t' have spools. So it's easier to loosen the bolts and slide the pads out to work with swinarms.
