Hi guys so finally took my cbr out for a spin yesterday and today and bike performed well just a slight concern i noticed an engine rattle like top end kinda like piston slap lower to mid range bike has done 65000kms also turned bike off today went to start it and notjing barkey turned engine over twice and batt was flat checked with a meter when i got home and volts were all over place from 6volts to 12 .4 iam once bike was running it stayed running with all lights on wondering is my stator in trouble

 

Stator or R/R are often the culprits, but start by checking all the connectors from the stator and to the R/R to make sure they've got good connections. Also make sure your grounds have good connections as well.

 

Thanks mate bike stayed running all day with lights on soon as turned it off to start it again it barely swung it over had dash lights and bumped it

 

How old is the battery? Many parts places will perform a battery test for free as well.

 

Iam not sure mate tbh would bike still put out 13.5 to 14 volts even with bad battery

 

Yes, that would be the charging voltage of the R/R. What is the voltage when you just turn on the key? It's easy enough to have a battery tested.
