Engine cuts out, temporary CEL and HESD, then it's fine
Hey everyone, I've lurked here for a while, but finally decided to jump in.
I have a 2011 CBR 600RR that I bought new and I've since put about 10k miles on it. After riding over 100 miles today my bike suddenly started cutting out. I'd get a momentary CEL and HESD light accompanied by a large drop in power. 1-10 seconds later the engine lights would go out and the bike would instantly spike to whereever I had set the throttle. I took the freeway 70 miles home and the bike would do this about every 10 miles or so, regardless of speed or RPM. A few times the the engine quit, and I had to coast to a stop, but the bike fired back up just fine; rinse, repeat. Once the entire panel went dark, then came back after I had pulled over and stopped.
The bike idles and runs smoothly otherwise. This happened to me once before about a year ago and I found that the nut on the positive battery terminal had vibrated off, but this time my terminals were connected tightly, I checked the battery and it's got 12.7V dark, 12.3V when it's on, and 12.9V when the bike is running, so I don't think it's the stator or the battery. I didn't have time to remove the fairing to check the reg/rect, but the battery isn't over charging and the lights don't get brighter with RPM. Unfortunately I didn't have time to get the codes today, but none of the engine lights are continuously illuminated. Also, when the engine lights came on, the throttle responded just fine when the clutch was engaged, so I don't think it's the throttle sensor. I did just have my bike shipped for a military move where it developed an issue with the high beams (when I turn them on it takes a couple seconds, then it flickers on), so I'm wondering if it's got some loose wires. Also, it only took three weeks to ship and I put a few hundred miles on it since I shipped it, so I don't think it's from improper storage.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I was afraid of that; any idea which ground might be good to start at? From the electrical diagram there're grounds off of the engine cooling fan, downstream from the speed sensor, one off of the ECM, one off of the rear turn signals, one off of the reg/rect, one off of the starter, and one off of the battery. If I can avoid taking off every fairing I'd prefer to do that, since I'm currently working 6 days a week. Thanks again for the help
