Default Battery discharges when riding

Hey guys, Im new here and to the sportbike world. Just got an 03 600rr. I was hoping someone had an idea for my problem. My battery completely discharges when I ride more than few miles. It still will push start and runs great otherwise. I read on here to check the rotor coils for corrosion,I did and thats not the problem. They all look great. Could it be a short to ground somewhere in the harness. Also my head light has new bulbs but only lights the left side on low, and on high beam the right side is on high and the left is low beam? Cant figure that one out either. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The headlight thing is normal, that is the way it comes...it might just need a new battery, since most battery's only last about 2-3 years anyway, and if it sat for a long time it might have just died

Ill second that. Sounds like the battery is shot. I had the same problem at the beginning of the season....even after it sat on a trickle charge and was started every so often. The California heat doesnt help matters...its a battery killer.
