Default Bar Ends

I can't be this hard! I have an '99 CBR F4 that came to me without bar ends. It has after market grips on it with a place to cut out for the bar ends to slide through the end of the grips. I ordered the LP carbon fiber look ends and though they say they fit, they don't. The internal weights inside the handlebars are present and they are threaded 6mm. The LP bar ends are threaded 8mm. So ok, just change screw size. If I do that, how will the throttle turn, when I tighten the screw? What do I need? Or what are you guys doing?

Mickey, of course I have thought of that, but then is there a spacer required to allow the throttle to function? If you screw it firm, it will prevent the throttle from rotating.
