Bad wiring, need help.
Glad you figured it out. I spent most of high school and college as a car stereo/security installer - wiring and troubleshooting wire harnesses is pretty mundane for me, but I know it freaks a lot of people out.
Yeah - either same colors, or at least labeling leads is always a good idea if possible.

My problem is that I cant problem solve electricity. I have enough know how to go solder some broken joints or wires, (hell, I hard modded my playstation 2) but when goofy stuff happens and things start lighting up when they shouldn't I am lost. I can't pin point where the problem is based off of what is happening. I just look for broken stuff lol.
I got lucky. I looked at the wiring diagram and noticed one of the bulbs going into a wire that had a double quick connect on it for 2 wires and new I didn't have it hooked like that. Oh well live and learn! Glad I got it fixed, selling her tomorrow. I don't like selling people stuff with random hidden problems.
Yeah - I'm the same way - it's like my brain is rendering part interractions in a virtual space. I've tried to explain it to other people and they just kind look at me funny...then they ask me if I can fix whatever it is we're working on.
