there a few REALLY anouying noieses coming from my bike and its not the engine. it seams like its coming from the foot peg area or somewere around it... its not my chain.. it only rattles when it hits about 5 or 6,000 rpms then it stops when i really get on it.. have you guys had the same problems? if so were was it coming from? BTW its a 2001 f4i with 17,000 miles on it..

 

There is so much plastic with the fairing, noises travel, I mentioned this the other day in a post, check your screen & other bits for rattles.

 

ya, its not the screen.. its just REALLY anoying! i need to find it! im sure you know how that is!

 

I went crazy from it, but there are a lot of places that it can be to. Used to drive my friends crazy as well, stop, look, fiddle, stop, look.......
Probably the worst part is when you think you have it sorted, it starts up again. Actually I've got one happening in my new car, but I'm driving the doobs at the car yard crazier cos it's still under warrantee.

 

Sounds like that cam chain tensioner!!

 

its not the CCT!!! wow, there has been alot of discussion about that topic! this isnt one of them! i actually posted somthing a whole new thread on that topic a while ago... but anyways it sounds like there are some lose plastic bolts, or the foot pegs are loose.... but its not coming from the engine!
