Default Engine noises...Both the usual and new....

So i've got a 2003 600F4i and have experienced the traditional vibrating/rattling noise at around 5.5k but now i think i have another situation. When i am at most any RPM, most usually above 6k, and i let the engine rev itself down without using the brakes i hear a clicking/ticking noise. It sounds almost as someone is tapping a metal tube with a nail or something of the sort. It seems to click/tick every 300RPM or so until around 1k... Is this something seriouse do you think??? I have had a few problems with cars in the past so if i catch wind that this could be a serious engine issue i will most likely sell the bike. It currently has 15k on the engine...Anyone??

Black is 100% right. Dont replace it with the OEM one. Get an aftermarket APE maunual tensioner and you got the solution. Thats what I did.

Very cool. I will do that!! I had created this new thread because i've heard of the vibrating noise and all caused by the OEM piece but do you think the noise while reving down is created by that same faulty piece?
Thank you much!
