Default Another waterpump issue...

Well, I figured I'd start a new thread on this. My F4 is still overheating, but now I'm noticing fluid coming from the telltale (weep) hole and it's grey. I'm thinking this is metal shavings. I'm thinking I shouldn't ride my bike til I get a new pump, change the oil, and change the coolant. Would I be right? I'm assuming this will also take care of my overheating at speed problems.

Thanks for all the help so far!

uh oh...looks like oil...or grease...you sure it's not chain fling that leaked down from the sprocket cover?

Tahoe - It could be. But regardless, there is definitely a trail of fluid (not much) coming from the weephole.

Cozye - After it initially overheated, I used distilled water with vinegar to flush it out and see if that was the problem. Then I went to a "car" 50/50 mix. Not that this argument will matter, but the stuff I used is for all makes/all models. Meaning it works in any coolant system with any style/type of radiator. I don't see why this would cause the bearing or seal to fail in the pump.

BTW, I never checked the weephole before I did in the pics.

That's what I figured. Oil and coolant are being changed again too. I think I have 40 miles on this oil change andmaybe 10on the coolant. I just hope this was my original problem, seeing as I never checked the weephole, only took off the cover.
