Another misfire!!
yes mate, PC111 with button clutchless upshift. Was thinking of disconnecting it and see what happens. It had been set 2 bars towards rich and I dropped it to midway. The misfire has become more of a 'violent lurch', if you get me? I'll back off throttle hold it steady and it's fine. Typical Irish weather, now that I'm off for 4 days, we have a storm scheduled on the forecast so prob won't get any good testing time. I work 12hr night shifts atm and she's only getting X2 10mile journeys per day, I think I need to suit up take it on a long run thrashing it and see how constant the misfire is over a longer distance in case it's a dampness that might disapate over the longer journey

Yeah gona try disconnecting it. Bprepared mate, it started here as I left work at 630 am, was getting blown all over the motorway like a ragdoll! I have famliy over your direction, in Preston
Two dry runs and it's still doing it, so doubt it's wet related. this bike is really getting on my nerves now.
Any way of testing coils with multi-meter? It all points in that direction, doesn't happen until bike is well heated up, then it splutters like it's running out of petrol

Just a thought as well, as grease/grime heats up it tends to become more conductive (starts to liquefy sort of) and could be grounding somewhere a bad connection/wire. Maybe the water enhanced the issue that was already there making more frequent.

Well since factory procedure calls for a peak voltage reading, you are going to either need a DMM that reads at least RMS/TRMS or specifically peak voltage. Some have a min/max reading that will get you close I believe. or you can use RMS to calculate from there the peak voltage. Unfortunately its not a real common feature on most DMM's. I heard you could maybe cross reference the resistance to the 4 packs to see if you have a difference in one but Honda specifically did away with that sometime back I believe. Probably a ploy to get you to buy their adapter, who knows.

I have one running the dip now, and heard a crackle the other day when I started her with the lights on, hopefully get a dry day and run her without the lights on, that'll tell me if that's a prob fairly quickly

The reason I have it on is I have to travel a very busy and dangerous stretch of motorway to work, (M50 around Dublin) so the extra bright lighting is required, it's made drivers jerk back into their lane whereas I really don't think they'd have noticed me on standard bulbs.
It's a slim ballast within the right side fairing, only weak spot is prob my joining to lighting wiring using insulating tape, semi exposed to elements, I know I really should use shrink wrapping, just have no time due to work.
