Alternator toast?

Alternator toast?
I have a 95 F3.
I finally got it on the road and she died on me. I gave her a boost, got another 20km, and at roughly 6k rpm and 110-120km/hr she died, lost all throttle response and coasted her to the shoulder. She wouldn't fire back up, so I got a lift, boosted her, and got her home.
Put her on the charger and it was toast. Topped her up, and rode her round for the day, put her back on charger read it was low again.
So I'm assuming IF my bike has an alternator it must be toast correct?
Which brings me to my next point. I know the F2, F3, and early RR are almost identical, in some aspects.
Is there another model with a compatible alternator? Perhaps even a higher quality one that would fit without comprehensive adjustments to things?

thanks
Well I took the crank cover off on the stator side. Didn't see there was a gasket... Ripped her to ****, so now I've got her in pieces. Might as well replace the stator and maybe the reg/rec while I'm at it.
Are stators interchangeable? Ie: is there a brand that makes em better than others, are they pretty universal to all bikes?
And reg/rec. Same questions. Is there an aftermarket part that that fits all bikes?

So I haven't replaced either the stator or the R/R.
I replaced the battery because I fried her on an overnight 12v 6a setting... Boy did that stink up my garage. Lucky I didn't start a fire.
And haven't had the issue again until yesterday. I was idling while texting and she died. Had to push start the poor girl. Got her home. Checked battery levels and it was full.
Every time she has died thus far. It has been after a very bumpy ride. On reassembly of the charging system I found that the 3p connector from the stator to the R/R is slightly corroded. Could that be losing its connection and killing the battery?
