Unhappy '93 F2 Battery Dying?

Well, once again I'm back onto my bike and hitting the road. Great to be back, but there's a slight issue.. I can ride about 30 - 60 minutes (depending on how hot my engine gets) before the battery dies. After the engine is hot the battery will die. After I let it cool down it starts right back up and I can go for another 30 - 60 minutes. Highway rides last longer than city rides, etc. Its irritating. I've checked all wiring and nothing is loose. Brand new battery. Any ideas what could be wrong?

Before you replace your rectifier/regulator, an easy check to determine if your charging system is ok is to put a voltage meter across the battery terminals and with the engine running, increase the revs and see if the voltage increases to around 13.5/14.2 volts. If it stays around 12.5 volts or drops below this figure then it would appear that the rectifier/regulator is fault as suggested and need to be replaced. I just don't want you to spend money unnecessarily! An even quicker check is to start the engine, put the headlight on, rev the engine and watch for the headlight beam to brighten up as you rev up and down. Also check to see if your brake lights go out when you release the front/rear brakes as these can stick and rob your battery of power. Hope you sort it out!
