I agree fox. My F3 kicks in about the same RPM and even then it's just barely above battery voltage. But the battery should hold better than that when under a load (15 min or so). With that thought in mind, I had the battery tested and it came back with an F. The other issue is the bike heating up so quickly. I have pulled the waterpump out because of the leak at the weep hole and also found I could barely turn it by hand. I decided to replace the waterpump since I can get it for $110, so I'll say something if it improves or if there is no difference.

 

does anyone know the thread pitch on the cooling fan switch.i want to find one that turns on at a lower temp.

 

You should be able to pull out the switch and then hold it up to one of those little gizmoes that measure the thread pitch for ya. I do know this much... it will be metric.

 

im with ya there,i just didnt want to have to drain the radiator to do that.

 

marc- my guess is your charging system is putting extra stress on the engine causing it to heat up abnormally. Run the stator/RR/battery check
