Default 96 F3 - electrical trouble

Hey there! Been a long-time lurker mainly for the BOTM on this forum and the plethora of useful info that has been posted, it's made me a better and safer rider over the years.

My 96 F3 is the bike I learned to ride on, the bike I learned to love riding on, and over the years, (5 of them) I've been able to perform basic maintenance, carb cleaning, chain replacement, and other normal stuff.

Now I've hit a wall.

The bike starts no problem, has a brand new battery, which I put in last october.

Mechanically (as far as I can tell) it is still functional. However the only light that now works when I start her up is the headlight. Even with the instrument cluster removed, the headlight still powers up.

With all connections made, and all pieces back in place, this is the only light that functions.

Possibly important details:
Since I have owned her, the left blinker was finicky, and on occasion the instrument cluster lights would go solid and then go back off, somewhat indicating an electrical problem.

The catalyst to all lights no longer functioning is when I replaced the flushmount front blinkers for DOT approved ones to pass safety, which i did and then put the flushmounts back in place, however I believe the front left wires ended up touching and over one long ride stopped functioning at all.

I have disconnected both front blinkers in hopes that I'd at least get back to fast-blinking lights indicating less resistance from missing blinkers, however it seems to have done the opposite.

The last thing attempted was to take the spare fuse in the plastic/rubber connection near the seat and swap it out with the connected one, at this point I've exhausted my google-fu and understanding of technical manuals off ron-ayers. Any suggestions before I give up and take her to a shop would be greatly appreciated.

Pictures of bike, not sure what to show in more detail.

Sounds like an electrical issue. Either your cluster lights all burned out, something silly is unplugged, a fuse or a bad wire connection. Grab a continuity tester and start checking wires all the way through. At least you know the bike runs and the lights are a non crippling problem.

As far as the non working turn indicator light goes that's either a bad bulb or a bad wire. Nothing more.
