ok well i just recently changed the airfilter and when i went out for a ride it smoked pretty bad when i started it up and then that went away after 2 to 4 mins i figured that would have been because i put too much oil on my K&N air filter. I wouldnt think that could mess anything up that bad i did notice it started to backfire a lil after letting off the throttle before this happend, Now i go to take the bike for a ride and no matter what gear im in when i pull the throttle its responce is fine until about 4,500 to 5,000 it starts to sputter and almost bog down or just not getting gas and i can not get past this when i give it more it just gets worse any suggestions i would greatly appreciate it thanks i was thinking it was spark plugs but im not sure
really cant wait to get this running right again

 

Try cleaning your air filter again & re oil it correctly, you could have sucked some oil down the barrels and clogged the jets or to much oil is restricting the air flow or you may not have secured the filter correctly.

 

check the air hoses for the ram air. Make sure they are all connected correctly and securely.

 

well im going to try to clean the air filter again and check all the hoses and make sure i put it in correctly and ill see what heppens then how would i go about cleaning the jets if i did clog those ?

 

on the off chance you may have plugged the jets,although im not sure how oil that is in a gas area is going to survive,buy some seafoam and put it in your tank,that should do the trick.

 

oh and check your plugs too.

 

well i took my bike all apart and inspected everything some air intake hoses lose so i snugged up everything cleand the air filter again and changed two plugs and now she is running like a champ agian i couldnt get to the inner spark plugs the air duct was in the way seemed that i couldnt get it off or out of the way enough without having to take the carbs apart any hlep on this would be awsome
