Default 95 cbr gear problem

hey guys new to cbr forum, i just bought a 95 cbr600 f3 with just under 10k miles when i test drove the bike i didnt have any of the problems im having now a couple things, the bike never starts first try i always have to turn the fuel up and it still idles real low then it gradually starts idling faster up to aroun 2.5 3 rpms, the second problem i have is when the bike idles in neutral theres a strange rumbling almost a grinding, and the 3rd problem i have is when i shift into second gear it often grinds and sometimes gets stuck in second gear. I dont know a whole lot about bikes but i wana learn, and if anyone has any suggestions as to what the problems maybe how i can fix it or if i just bring it to a bike shop and get an all around checkup thanks for the help

Default RE: 95 cbr gear problem

the starting thing is just a cold engine. turn the choke on full and give it a very small amount of throttle to fire it off. once it starts to warm up the RPM will increase, that is normal.

the rattle sound is probably your cam chain tensioner and that is a pretty normal problem with the CBR. just take it in and have the CCT replaced it should run you around $150

the problem with your gears sounds like it could be the clutch not disengaging enough or it could be as simple as a shift linkage adjustment.
