Default 95 to 97 conversion

I have a 95 600 and I need to replace most of my plastics, every piece has a little crack somewhere! I was looking around and noticed the 97-98 had a pointy tail section, which I like better then the square ones. Will the tail section from a 97 bolt up to my 95 bike?? It looks like the rest of the plastics are the same, so I dont see why not. I just dont want to buy em and them not fit. Does anybody know for sure?

I got the 97/98 plastic and tail lightfor my 96but haven't got it all together yet. I'm like you, the 97/98 tail looks better. plus the tail light has the blank dummy area on each side of the taillight that you can put turnsignals behind for that hidden look. I test fitted the side tail and it fit but like it was said the seat is also different so you basically would need the entire tail "stuff".

Here is a side view comparison of a 1997F3 (top)and a 1996 F3 (bottom). notice the difference of the seat profile, especially right at the tank. It goes just slightly farther forward on the 97 but basically are the same.

I am interested in seeing this as well. It seems that 97 plastics are waaaay easier to find. Everytime i go searching for some for my 95 i keep on running into 97 and 98 pieces.

yes they will bolt right up. you need the tail section from a 97/98, the seat from a 97/98, the tail light from a 97/98 and the battery tray from a 97/98 . and yes there is room in the tail light it self to stick some small aftermarket blinkers in there for an integrated look.
