tell us what you have... The principle of a clutch is very similar for all motors, but will vary due to engineering design and torque specs (which is very important to have). Getting a shop manual for your vehicle is recommended if you can find it in pdf or buy the book.

The clutch is a set of plates of which half is attached to your engine, and the other to the flywheel. When engaged, the plates are forced together, which in turn due to friction, allows the power made from the engine to transfer to the flywheel, which in turn drives the transmission and transfer power to the rear wheel.
