Update, went ahead and had the battery tested at a better local shop. Said the battery wouldn't even take a charge for them to do a load test. Bought a new battery. Went to install it, but checked the regulator. Middle yellow plug was slightly melted on the harness. So I assume that my regulator is bad. Pic included of the wire harness. Inside the regulator, you can see it is a little melted, but nothing outrageous. I assume, that I need to replace the regulator before I do anything further, correct?

If I buy a new regulator, do I need to change out the wire harness, or would it be OK to clean up and use it still? The connector inside still looks ok, so if I clean it up some, will it be OK?

it would be best to change out the harness along with the regulator. Being that the pins inside the harness are burnt. This will only prolong another issue down the road.

Change the plug. eBay has them but thier in china may take a week or 2. Bikebandit may carry them.
