Default 2nd gear out, how to fix?

01' f4i buddy got, has no 2nd gear...

there a easy way to fit? what will it cost to fit?

(sorry about the stupid ?)

could be the gears or the gear forks. if you plan on fixing it by swapping internals out, i would just split the motor open and see whats wrong in there, then buy whatever you need.

+1. You're going to have to pull the engine no matter what, might as well get it out on the floor and put the eyes on it. If everything LOOKS okay, go with gears. Gears can look just fine unless you compare them to a "fresh" set. If something else is broken/bent/torn up, then replace that.

yea unless you have experience tearing down an engine, I would suggest taking it to a trusted mechanic.
