2016 CBR500R cuts out while riding
This has only happened a couple times so far, the first time two days ago and the second this morning. The first time I was getting ready to start up and head out for a ride. I turned the ignition on, and everything lit up normally. Before I actually started the motor, the power died for a second. Console went blank, headlight and running lights went out, the bike lost all power. Then it came back up, it started up ok and ran normally. However, the Check Engine light came on. But, when I rode home later that night, everything worked just fine and the Check Engine light was not on.
This morning I got on for the ride to work. Again, everything started normally, nothing different. But while I was on the freeway, it happened again. Everything went dark all power was lost, even the motor cut out (I'm assuming loss of power to injectors). And again, it was only for a second, then everything came back up and worked just fine.
At first I thought maybe battery, but I've never seen a battery do that before. Then maybe I thought a fuse, but a fuse wouldn't blow and then repair itself. That is the extent of my electrical knowledge. Any thoughts?

Hi Droobie, welcome to the forum, sorry to hear that you are having problems.
As it is cutting out completely it looks likely that it is an ignition problem, with the bike running try moving the key ever so slightly to see if it is the contacts that could be a little corroded, I had this in my CB500, although it is a fair bit older than yours. I managed to squirt some contact cleaner into the unit underneath the key barrel which seemed to sort it for now), failing that you will need to start testing the wires from the ignition switch, unfortunately intermittent electrical faults are a bugger to find
