Default 2004 600rr studdering

hey guys. see if I can pick your brain for a min.

ive been noticing that i'll be riding my 2004 CBR 600rr and it will intermittently sputter like its out of gas clearly it is not. So it will begin sputtering in any gear any rpm. if i turn off ignition and flip cut off switch to off position then turn everything back on and start it back up. it will run for about 10 more mins and do the same exact thing...this is happening only on some rides...i can literally be riding down the road this will happen i will turn everything off then back on while i'm still riding and it will be cool for about 10 mins or so.

i'm thinking: fuel pump, spark plugs. fuel injectors...

fuel pump makes more sense. spark plugs would foul regardless of it being turned off then back on and i ran a small amount (1cap ful) of "sea foam" through a full tank of gas...Any ideas?

I have heard that on the 2004 1000rr models there is some word of a bad fuel pump.

hi! do you notice what temperature your guage is showing when it cuts out? the bike could be overheating and the fan might not be cutting in. see if the bike will run on the stand until it gets hot and check to make sure the fan kicks in. Could be the pump as you suggest, so try and substitute yours for a good one and see if that cures the problem. One or more of the coils could be breaking down as the bike heats up, but seems more like fuel starvation. You can test fan by joining wires from switch on radiator together to bypass switch and it should run without starting the engine with just the ignition 'On'. Finally check cut-out switch contacts and associated wiring. Good luck and let us know if you find a cure.

My first thought was a kinked or clogged fuel tank vent hose. Worth checking out, anyway.

Also take a look at the R/R and connector for heat sign (warped/melted plastic, burnt pins/cracked epoxy). If it starts to fail you will lose current to the ignition and it will cut-out, stumble, etc. when it starts getting hot. After it's off and cools a bit will go away till the heat gets to it again.
