Strange noise from engine after falling + oil Change
Hello,
Several days ago I had an accident on my 99 Honda Cbr f4.First one, BTW
I had a highside fall over the bike, my CBR itself ended up on the left side damaging stator cover and thus draining part of oil on the tarmac. The engine went down almost immediately after falling.
As Soon as I got up and caught a sight of oil, I realized that I should not try firing up engine, because of oil leak. I towed bike back home (fortunately I was close enough).I disassembled stator cover welded it up (temporarily, I am planning to buy a new), fixed the gasket and poured a brand new oil in the system, after completely draining the old one out.I also changed the oil filter for that one of K&N. New Oil Is Motul SAE 10w-40 4T, the best choice for us in Georgia.
I fired the engine up, then let it settle a bit, checked oil level, added up 200 ml, checked again, it was Ok.
Till the engine is warming up everything is ok, but sometimes (mostly when I am on a downhill and oil temp is little over "C"), I hear some kind Strange knocking noise coming from engine. I tried to record it on video and it sounds like valve camshaft hydrocompensators (if I am not mistaken with terms), maybe this is something else.my friend told me that maybe engine has that as normal sound and I just did not hear it before due to plastic fairings installed, thus the sound existed but I just could not hear it.I doubt though.
I wonder if anything could go wrong after a fall, and why the sound comes on and off? is that normal? what should I be checking? could that be the CCT?
the bike is almost new (dsiregarding age) and has only 1900 miles on odometer, so I would not be blaming worn out details in the engine.
here is the video (sorry for quality, mostly sound on it)
knocking starts from about 20 secs:

Any suggestions?
Thanks In advance,

my Iphone did not catch it quite well , but there is a little bit of a tick sometimes. I blame oil to be less viscous than it was before and maybe it does not make enough pressure in the CCT which hydraulic on my bike I guess. If things are this way is it dangerous for engine like chain jumping forward and destabilizing timing of valves?
had any1 had same problems?
yeah It does well.
The only problem that appears is a cold star problem. But I think this is all due to my schedule. I work 2 weeks and then come home for 2 weeks. so 2 weeks it stays in garage + winter and I think a battery goes down a bit.
Guys do you know how much should I not be reving the engine up to the end considering I have got only 1900 miles on odometer, does it need to be handled gently first 2 000 miles like cars, or can I actually start using its full power?

Hi. Sounds ok to me, so as long as it runs fine try not to worry! It's always best to build the revs up over a few hundred miles, gradually revving a bit more as the miles build up. Don't rev to full revs in one go, but increase a few thousand revs for about 500 miles at a time until you've done around 3thousand miles then gradually take it up to full revs, but only for a few seconds in each gear! The more care you take in the early days, the longer the engine will last and perform better!
Thanks,
That's exactly what I have been thinking of. Although I reved it to 12 000 couple of times, for just few secs and then swithed the gear.Goes without saying that I have to gain some mileage on my experience of riding as well. So I'll hold the horses for now
)So guys, you think it sounds normal? should I be buying an APE one, how do you think? Is OEM honda CCT some how adjustable?
I have found a pretty interesting video about CCTs and that guys says that hydraulic ones are good in design but not practical, as far as oil pressure fluctuates in the running engine thus forcing CCT to contract and expand all time long which causes damage both to CCT and chain.

Answer to all your questions: Stop falling off your bike. Oh, thats not the answer you wanted? Well, sell it to someone who doesnt care about little ticking noises. Btw, you really need to take a ride course for the sake of yourself. God and the bike are saying something: Dont let this guy kill himself. Seriously, out of 1900 miles how many did you put on it before falling. Oh, and btw, I love hatefull responses.
Dude, are you angry on somebody or stuff like that?
No prob man, keep that *** coming out of you on the forum, but try to be more close to the subject, please.Did I tell anybody giving me advice what should I be doing with my future, I asked about the bike.
Before standing firmly on our legs, you will inevitably fall couple of times if not more. That's how all of us learnt to walk, same concerns to riding.
Do you really think you are diferrent/better? no talks about god and philosophy , just stick to the subject, if you can't do that go on flooding with other threads !
And happy New Year to the rest underdeveloped part of us !
