2001 929 wont start help!
I had to leave town for about a year and didnt start my bike at all. When I got home I went to start the bike, all the electronics work when I turn the key to "on" position...but will not start...does this have anything to do with fuel injectors? help!!
You'll need to supply more info then that. Is it turning over? Did you store it with a dry tank? Is there FRESH fuel in it? Is the petcock open? Do you have spark? Are all your cables seated?
My bad. When I stored the bike it had a full tank of gas...when I got back first thing i did was take the old gas out..and put new gas in..even be4 i started it. and no it wont turn over at all. I just got back I havent had a chance to check anything out yet, wish I could give more info. Thanks
Ok, that's at least a start. Check your fuel screen first off. You'll have to empty the tank again, but make sure the screen is clear and not gummed up. If it is, use some gas/solvent and an old tooth brush and you can clean it out. (the screen is inside the tank attached to the petcock assembly).
It's most likely a gumming/varnishing problem that you should be able to solve fairly easily.
Check your plugs/wire brush them. Again, make sure the petcock is open, and give it a couple throttle rolls inbetween each firing.
If you have trouble past that, let me know and I'll see how much I can walk through everything I can with you.
