Default 2000 F4 clicking

So here's the problem....whenI have to stop or slow down and I pull in the clutch and just coast i can hear this clicking that sounds like it's coming from the lower front. It's a steady click that is pretty much directly related to the speed i'm going (the faster i go the quicker the clicking). It also does it when i coast in neutral with the clutch lever released and in every gear. It will clickuntilI touch the brakes either front or back.I'm not certain what it is, but I do know it's not the chain. I'm thinking maybe the front wheel bearing or possibly something in the transmission? Any help or advice would be great. Thanks

You sure its coming from the front, It sounds to me more like the chain. How often do you lube it?

I have never lubed/greased the bearings so that's why I was thinking they could be the problem. And as far as the chain goes, that was my first thought and I lube it every time I fill the gas tank (about 180 miles) and check the tension every third tank of gas.

How often should the bearings be lubed? And just to be sure we're on the same page you are talking about the wheel bearings right?

yep. I'm sure you're supposed to do it once a year or something. I know with airplanes we do it once every tire change.

Personally? I'd do it once every 2 years or so.

check your chain and rear sprocket. i had a 900rr and the rear sprocket has broken some teeth and it would click sound like you describe . could just be a loose chain too .
