Default 1st oil change

Due to a paperwork flustercluck with my bike registration and plates, I'm past the 600 mile mark and doing the 1st oil change myself. Wasn't going to risk NJ State Troopers on long expired temp tags.

Any opinions on my oil drain plug?

Gonna fill her with Rotella T6 and using a Purolator Pure One oil filter. Also gonna send a sample of the oil to Blackstone to establish a baseline for future analysis.

Looks normal to me. Is the tip magnetic? Slight metal particles on the tip doesn't mean something is amiss. I'd be concerned if they were big chunks and what not.

it's the first oil change. you'll always have some stuff from break-in. metallurgy has gotten much better - but it's still brand new parts turning very fast with each other for the first time

so, i'd be curious to see what the next oil change looks like. i'd say it should go down (the amount of material) on the next couple of oil changes.

that doesn't look too concerning though (to answer your original post)
