Default 1st Gear Is Basically Trash

I have a 2000 cbr 600f4. Man I love this bike. I need a right side orange fairing so if you are selling let me know but that is not why I am here. My bike 1st gear is awful. It goes like 0 to 5mph in 1st gear and to make a turn at a intersection I need to quickly jump to second. This upsets me because a friends r6 2009 goes like 0 to 70 in 1st. Why do I need to go up to 3rd gear to do 70 and why is my 1st gear basically trash? Need help

What size sporckets are you running? A crazy big rear might act like that.

Agree with 74demon - sounds like someone has been playing with the gearing.
Either down at the front or up at the back - worst case they may have done both.

Try running beside your mate at 30mph on his speedo and see if your speedo matches his.

Sorry been trying to get everything plated and buying gear. (REALLY EXPENSIVE) both worth it for the ride. I am in another state and way to far from my friend. Is there another way to find out the problem. Well not really a problem but I want my first to go longer than just 10mph. How do you find out the size of my sprockets?

Just count teeth.
It might even be stamped on it.

After you count the teeth on each sprocket you can find out what the stock size is on the Gearing Commander website. Just load your bike's data from the drop-down menu and it will tell you.

Do you have or can you borrow a gps/navigation unit ?

Check your speedo against the gps/navigation unit.
