Default 1996 cbr 600 f3 engine reassembly

So I did something out of my comfort zone and bought a 1996 cbr 600 f3 for 400 bucks. The catch is the engine is all in parts. The PO said everything is there to put it back together. He took it apart to inspect it because the head had busted from freezing. He purchases a good head off of eBay to replace the busted one. So I have that as well and all the gaskets I need. But I have never put a engine back together. What should I look for while it's apart? And how hard is it to put these engines back together? Has anyone reassembled one of these engines before? Im sure I'm going to need all the help i can get.

I have the Haynes manual but it's not very detailed.

Dunno if this is better or worse, but it's certainly another choice: StephyGee.com

Assembly is really straight forward. As said prior, follow the manual and you'll be fine.
As for things to look for, just hit the basics. Check for wear on the shift forks and drums, make sure there's no scratches or scoring on the crank journals and camshafts.
