Hello all,

I put my 1990 CBR600F back together today to try and get it to run. It will start and idles (we have adjusted the idle speed but right now it is right around 1200) but dies when we apply throttle at around 3000. Using choke, the bike will run up to 4000 RPMs.

My friend and I did trouble shooting for about and three hours and we both believe that gunky carbs, specifically a clogged main pilot jet is causing this problem. We are planning on taking to carbs off of the bike, cleaning them all together to not mess up their sync, and then replacing them and running the bike. Throttle operation is smooth and proper. We know that fuel is going INTO the carb bowls at a proper rate.

Is there any other advice which may pertain to this occurrence? The bike dying upon too much throttle application?

It was good to hear her just idle, to be honest. She's been dormant since Halloween.
