Default 06 CBR600 F4i no spark

long time car guy. and small engines, first time wrenching on my bike.
long story, so I let my bike sit too long, like way to long, but anyway nattery was dead, as I expected. Charged battery, poured a little fresh gas in it no luck. Couple shots of either and it started. I just let it idle for a while, give it a couple revs when I went by it. Well stuff happened and I didn't get back to it for a while. next time it wouldn't hit a lick, Fuel in the tank stunk, pulled the tank to drain and swish it around to clean out any gunk. pulled a plug and had no fire. then reading here realized I had disconnected the angle sensor. plugged that in and got spark. Hit it with some ether and it started and died, expected since there wasn't any fuel supply. Thought heck since I was this far, pull the fuel rail and clean any old fuel out of it and injectors. managed to drop a injector o-ring and couldn't find it. also noticed, what I believe is an oil sensor, was only held on with a couple strands.spliced in a new piece of wire to repair. ordered some new o-rings. by the time they got here and I got back to it was about 2 weeks. put everything back together, fresh fuel and it won't hit a lick, evey with a shot of ether. Pulled a plug and I've got no spark. put it on another coil pack and no spark on that one either. (grounded plug back to battery)
reading through here I see there is an ignition pulse generator and a cam pulse generator. would either of these be a likely culprit? is there a good way to troubleshoot either of these?
also saw mention of ecu, but since I don't have a working one to swap, didn't really want to run down that road.

other suggestions? (oh and the fuel pump runs and there is fuel on the rails, so if I can get some spark it'll probably be good.)
