Default 04 1000 Clutch Problem

This morning I started the bike and was ready to ride, when I hopped on, lifted my kickstand, squeezed the clutch and popped it in first, the bike turned off. When I checked the clutch handle, it was very flimsy and didn't have that natural resistance.
I don't know what to do, should I check the cables and try adjusting it? Anyone have the same issues before.

Thats where you should start yes. It is possible you could have busted the cable, check it all the way down to where it goes into the case. Check the tension by hand there as well. If all that is in good working order, then you will have to pop the clutch cover off.
