Default ‘03 954 wiring harness question

took off upper cowl today to change speedo/tach unit and discovered a taped off multi-wire connector near the plug for the display unit. Is this a factory checkout plug or am I missing some factory options? I didn’t untape it but I’m guessing it’s got 8 or 10 pins.

Hi Rusty , have a look at this , should be a Grey and a Black connector , I'm assuming your in USA, sometimes Riders "hardwire" them to eliminate connectors

I think you are referring to the junction block for the headlight (and other stuff) grounds. It's a yellow connector wrapped with electrical tape from the factory and has 8 black wires in it. It's located really close to the instrument cluster connector.

It's supposed to be there and taped up.
