Riding hard would not cause the bike to stop working. Id say if the display won't turn on its your battery. Don't know what kind of test you did to check battery but I would put it on a tender for a day then install it back on the bike. If it starts then the battery is the problem or you might have a wiring problem. Motorcycles don't charge batteries like cars do so motorcycle batteries only last for about four years with a quality brand. How old is the battery? Also what does the bike do when trying to start? Could be no spark which means you need new plugs, or could be a problem in the stator coil. But from everything you said so far it sounds like a battery problem.

Hope that helps for now. will try to think of what else might cause the problem based on your test.

the battery is not even a year old when I purchased the bike p.o. said the battery kept losing charge so I went and order a new battery from a reputable cycle dealer. I had the battery on my battery tender charging the day this happened and it shows a full charge by looking at the green indicator light on the tender box plug.. I also took a multi meter and read across the battery 13.1 dcv also looked at all the fuses they all checked ok I have resistance on every fuse so what I did I unplugged the computer and took the pos+ and neg- off the battery terminals and im giving it a day or so to re-attach everything hopefully that will get the gremlins out of the mix if not I might have to take it to a shop and I know its going to be an expensive trip. the bike was a street fighter by p.o. and he had no head lights and no front brakes it was just a mess but we got it back to where it was a daily and I road it less and less till this weekend. I appreciate all your insights ill repost once everythings back together again..

if you are getting NO lights or dash or pump or anything, you need to check the main fuse. It is a 30A, and is inline with your battery, I dont remember if it is in the fuse box or not, but most times it isnt. look around for it. you may also find a 20A fuse, that is for the PGM-fi

jeason15 I found the problem it was the 30 amp main fuse man thanx again it was under the frame of the battery box that's why I couldn't find it. now I have to work on my clutch its not going into the first gear I think the culprit is the clutch cable some minor adjustment.. again thanx it had a 20 amp fuse instead of the 30 I took care of it.
