Default 02 f4i Stalling when cold

Hey guys,

I got an 02 f4i that stalls when cold. If I don't let it get to about 150 degrees. it will turn off at stop lights or when slowing down. it doesn't do it at idle so I am not sure what is going on? I did order a new fpr and it will be saturday. do you think that could be the problem.

Default if your fi light throwin a code?

mine is throwing a code right now and it causes mine to die when ive already been riding and turn it off and go to restart it after a couple mins. i have to hold the throttle untill it kicks that auto warm up cycle then its fine. or, if i let it sit more than 20 min it just idles low untill that warm up. then itll go up to 3k and work its way back down to 1300 in a min or 2. my code is for the map sensor but yours may be in that area. maybe a vaccume line or bad connection.

I don't see any codes. but yeah if I let it warm up to about 150 or higher before riding I have no problems. If I leave before that It stalls when I get to stop signs or lights. I hate having to start it while riding.

Well the answer to you question is to let it warm up properly, not only will it stop turning off but your bike will love you for it.

Is there a IAT or MAF/MAP sensor? I would test them or clean them up. Sounds like one of those issues.

you might wanna check your vaccume lines. i just had my tank up to adjust my cct so i checked everything out to see why my light was on and found a tear in the vac line to the map sensor (left side of airbox). fixed the line and no more stalling on mine.
