Helmet-99.5% of the time
Gloves-99.5% of the time
Jacket, jeans-when it's cold

Don't think it's always the smartest choice but...I ride fairly sane and keep the rubber side down and the shiny side up.

I know my reasoning is s*** but....

when riding with my girlfriend... only helmet - t shirt & shorts

when riding with my friends - helmet leather trousers / jacket gloves - at times it gets really dangerous with them but damn it... they are the only riding buddies ive got!

Usually if you low side, as this being a common crash, your feet will get caught under the bike and slide on the pavement. if you wear tennis shoes or anything "low top", you can kiss goodbye your ankle bone. Wearing work boots or racing boots will protect your ankle (hopefully) a little better

My appologies for the noobness but what is low side?

low siding is when you are leaning into a curve and the bike "slides out" from under you, usually back wheel first. The opposite to this is high siding, where the rider will actually flip over the top of the bike.

Ahhh yes ok thanks. I am ALWAYS afraid of low siding which I guess is why I'm afraid to lean my bike.

screw that i would rather low side then high side personally. Id rather be let down and slide/roll then get thrown over the bike and land who knows where and slide/roll some more
