Woodcraft Frame Sliders Installation?

Woodcraft Frame Sliders Installation?
I just installed some Woodcraft frame sliders on my F4i. I know each side uses a specific bolt and aluminum base so I just wanted to double check that I actually put them on the correct sides
Here are some pics of the left and right sides from the rider's perspective. The left side sticks out about 1" from the fairing and the right side sticks out about 1 1/4" from the fairing.

Had the same situation when I installed mine. Fairings on or off, the difference was the same. Talked to the company and they were very helpful but couldn't tell me why one side stuck out more than the other. They were willing to do just about anything to make it right for me, great customer service. I opted to put the right side base into a lathe at work and shortened it about 3/16". The right side still protrudes slightly more then the left but it's not obvious (didn't want to weaken the base). If you shorten the base don't forget to shorten the bolt an equal amount.

Thanks Incompatible. I'm also wondering if I actually installed the proper base on the correct side. The aluminum base on the left side has a little more bevel to it before it tapers in around the bolt. Do you know if you installed that beveled base on the left as well?
Thanks.
Thanks.

I'm not sure without looking (it's been a while), but IIRC the stem diameters are different between left and right bases and will not interchange. You can put the small base in the large frame recess but not the large base in the small frame recess. From your pics, things look good.
Unless you're extremely **** about cosmetics, I would recommend leaving the right hand base alone and simply aligning the bolt which attaches the puck to the base along a 3-9 orientation (horizontally) with the head at the rear. 99.9% of the people will never pick up on the difference. If the contrast between the bright bolt and black puck bothers you, a little black paint on the bolt will make the difference even less obvious.

Thanks. I had also emailed Woodcraft on Sunday and Eric (president) responded first thing Monday morning and confirmed that they were indeed installed on the correct sides. I'm fine with the fact that they don't quite protrude the same amount on both sides, my primary concern was a correct installation. I might however paint the bottom on the set screw like you were saying though.
