Default who knows about exhaust and backpressure?

I have heard people taking out catalytic converter for less heat build up and better sound. If i did that and stuck an aftermarket pipe on (not a slip on, rather a cheap megaphone exhaust from online/autonzone) would i have problems with backpressure? It is my understanding that backpressure in the exhaust comes from the mid pipe.

Well, sound is all preference first. But as far as heat build up, where is our CC? And normally any replacement "pipe" replaces to the o2 sensor. You need SOME back pressure as well.

Correct, i was just thinking about hacking off the saw before i get to the "y" area in the pipe so as to keep the sensor and so forth.
