Hey, I put an F4i dash on an F3, everythings pretty great so far, finishing up a really long writeup too. As far as I can tell I have my sidestand wires wired up to the F4i dash correctly but I cant tell where the damn F4i sidestand indicator is.

I'm guessing its the LED on the far right on the cluster / dash, too the right of the speedometer, next to the edge of the unit. Whatever that thing is, it lights up when i first turn the bike on and then it goes off and never comes on again.

I know my switch is working because the cut off still works and the indicator on the old dash worked. Thanks for the info!

 

i have an F4i ('01) and if you are talking about an indicator light that stays lit when the kickstand is down, there isn't one on the F4i gauge cluster.....

 

Ah ok, after reading the F4i service manual, the wire for the sidestand must be there because its used in the logic for the reserve trip feature. Since the FI light isnt used on the F3,I could probably wire the sidestand up to that

What is that LED on the far right side of the cluster used for? The one that looks like its in the middle of a bolt. Thanks

well not really a "shift light" if you are talking about the one all the way to the right, that is your rev limiter light, it will light when you hit the rev limit.....most people don't hit that...at least i don't...lol....

 

Well.. to some of us that is a shift light =P
