What's it worth? 2002 F4i
I recently had to help out someone by paying off a loan on this bike when the owner lost his job. It's a 2002 f4i with just under 23K miles on it. The bike was parked a few years ago and the headlight and side fairings were stolen. The owner had no insurance, and no money to fix it, so he parked it in the garage where it has been sitting ever since. I paid off the loan and got the title, then I went and got the bike. I planned to sell it and the prior owner would repay me for any loss I take when he can. I installed a new battery and drained the old fuel out of the tank. I put in fresh gas and jumped the harness to enable the fuel pump and the bike started right up. I took it for a short ride and it goes through all the gears fine. Other then the missing parts it's in really nice shape. It is in stock condition, no modifications that I know of. It has a clean title and no back fees. I had hoped to get two grand for it but had no takers. I dropped the price to $1850 and still no luck. I figured it would be easy to sell since anyone who bought it could pick their own fairing style/colors, but maybe I was wrong. I have purchased a good used bank sensor and I have located a used headlight but I would really rather sell it as is. Any opinions on this, is my price too high, bad time of the year, ??? What is a realistic value for it as-is? Would it be better to buy the new fairings and sell at a higher price? And if I do that, what is a reasonable value?

Thanks to all for the replies, I appreciate your opinions.
I posted a few pictures above with my post. I could get more if you were interested in the bike, but I'm a long way away from you, I'm near Sacramento CA.

I agree, the bike not being in ready to ride condition will be a turn-off for most buyers. If I had the funds I'd ****** the bike up from you in a heartbeat. (I've seen your CL add and have been tempted to call, but didn't what to string you along since I know I'm not in a position to buy it right now.) :-(
