Default Worth it?

So a guy is selling his 2004 Honda CBR 600rr for $3,700 dollars. It has around 17,000 miles. Some minor cosmetic damage. New back tire and erion slip on exhaust.

I haven't seen it in person yet but I will be soon. I just want to know what would you pay for this or if you think this is a good deal.

I don't know if it's been laid down or not, I'll figure that out also.

Its by no means a bad deal but you could definitely do better. After you check it out in person if it seems to be in mint condition id say around 3500 or so would be good. Since you mentioned it has minor cosmetic damage id take that into consideration depending on how bad it is. So id probably say 3300-3500 if its in decent shape cosmetically and perfect shape mechanically.

Its all about what you want. Personally I rather paid few hundred more or go for an older bike as long as it's NEVER been laid down and original plastic decal. The closer feel of buying from dealer as possible. If you go and see the bike & you really love it, make him an offer like what nick said....but if you see damages & other problem, just walk away. Once you have experience viewing a few other bike for comparison, eventually when the right bike will turn up by chance but nothing is for free in life...you get what you pay for, the only difference is whom gets to come first & pay first......

Thanks for the replies! I was also thinking about offering $3,500 if I feel it's in good condition. But I may start even lower just to see if he will take it.

yeah it cant hurt, the worst he can do is say no. Even if its in good condition offer him 33-3400 cash or something anyway, if he rejects it offer him 3500

I agree that you can do better. Lowball him a little. If he doesn't take it, walk away. There's other stuff out there, and it's winter almost so the deals come rollin in.
