Oh boy...the gas question. This is a can of worms. I use the highest octane available, but there is more than enough evidence to prove that I am wasting my money. The manual says to put in "86 or higher". Use the lowest grade you feel comfortable with, and if you hear "knocking"...upgrade.

voodoo...you should save your bling and run 87 and then use the extra to buy wifey some lingerie! muahahhahah

I find my bike knocks with 87 so I just go ahead and run 93.

I get the best gas milage with 91.

FWIW, I run 87 and don't run anything different at the track. It wouldn't make sense to do such. If the bike isn't tuned for higher octane fuel, it won't make a bit of difference since the bike doesn't know street vs track vs me & Tahoe's wife's favorite hotel parking lot.
