Default Helmet laws

How many of you would not wear a helmet if there was no helmet law in your state?

In Nebraska, the helmet law is up for appeal this year. Although there are stipulations, must be 21 with motorcycle license for over a year or you will have to wear one. Passengers under 21 must wear one. Or you have to take a safety class. Plus insurance rates go up also.

I personally will still wear mine.

Here in Florida, you don't have to wear one, but I wouldn't get on my bike without one. Then again, I have only ridden 2 miles ever. I need more time off my tugboat.

No law in Florida, I wear mine every single time I am on public roads. Even without a crash, stuff like bugs, rocks...hurt at 70mph.

Full face helmet, every time, no question.

I respect that some people like the choice, but my choice won't change even if the law does.

I must admit I don't always wear my lid. I realize it is a stupid risk. I also have a personal view that they are only for open casket funerals. I know of one occasion in particular where the helmet killed the rider ( the wieght and angle snapped his neck when he went down , otherwise he would have walked away). Now before everyone starts flamin me out I live in Indiana where as long as I've been alive there has been no law. I never let my kids ride with me without one on. I guess there is a strange irony there. I have been wearing it more lately. Especially at night when I do most of my riding with a group. I guess the older I get the more I wear it. More and more of the guys are wearin em around here. Alot of the guys have a Red Bull law. If you get caught stuntin or doin somethin stupid without it you owe a case of Red Bull the next time we're all out. I guess it's insentive the wear it.
