Default Vortex rearsets on F4i......question.

any of you F4i guys have the Vortex rearsets (1" up, 1" back)? i'd like to get these eventually but not sure if it makes the posture very uncomfortable or not. when i ride, i ALWAYS keep my toes on the rearsets........just a habit now from the tip of my boot scuffing the road when i throw the bike over. so im used to a ssssssslightly more aggressive posture, i suppose.

anyone w/ those Vortex rearsets have some input?

Vortex discontinued the F4i rearsets, look at Woodcraft

confort is personal opinion, I like higher rearsets personally but some don't. 1"x1" isn't an extreme change so I would imagine you would get used to it pretty quickly

Vortex might have discontinued the f4i rear sets but they could still have some in stock so call some places. I pick some up from Cyclegear back in October, and I love them so far. The best thing I like about them are the teeth in the foot peg. They really dig into your boots so as a result I have a far better grip on the pegs vs stock. As far as the (1" up 1" back) I notice the differnce right away but it wasn't anything uncomfortable.

psss...you may want to think 2x about buying discontinued stuff...
you always want to buy equipment where parts are readily available.

Krash,

i would LIKE to see if i can fit track days into my '08 budget, haha. i bought some A* track pants, JUST purchased online some A* SMX-R boots....

i like the more aggressive position plus i see them as slight protection if the bike is layed down. a buddy of mine stuck a deer at 60mph on his 1k RR and he had aftermarket rearsets that saved the entire back of his bike pretty much.

but yeah, i'd like to try some trackdays this summer!!!

yup trackdays are the way to go. and solid rearsets will help in the event of laying it down. I am picking some up for trackdays, because as it is now with factory pegs, I cant keep my feet and pegs off the ground while riding on the street. If you look at the F4i's compared to the new 07 600 RR, it is amazing how much difference inground clearance there is between the 2 bikes
