Default Varad light kit

my girlfriend bought me a varad motorcycle light kit...

installation looks simple. just have to tap 4 wires. very similar to installing an alarm. only problem i got is where's the ignition wire or something? i have to tap it into that so that no one can turn on my lights with the bike off. The varad kit comes with a button you can push to turn it on and change the modes on how the lights flash, brightness, etc. so...where's the ignition wire?

well from looking at the wiring diagram in the service manual, it seems like there should be a black and brown wire that goes into the speedo. it says "IGN(+)" in the diagram, so it looks like what youre looking for. i would try testing it with a simple test light to see if that it. hope that helps somewhat....

an ignition wire can always be found at the key cylinder, get a test light or multi meter and find the wire you need, there may be more than 1 ignition wire for you to choose from

am i stupid or something?!? how come i never thought of that. I think I was just too busy with trying to find the ignition wire that I didn't think of tapping it into something else that only turns on when the bike is on.

you're a genius schira. you are the old wise man.

... wait...

you're only 19. nm
